Communication in its simplest sense is a human relationship involving two or more persons who come together to share, to dialogue and to commune, or just to be together say at a festival or a time of mourning. Communication is thus not so much an act or even a process but rather social and cultural togetherness. Communication with oneself, with god, nature, the world of spirits and with one's ancestors are also form of communication, communication studies was largely influenced by such needs and such research as well as the rapid growth of the press and later of the cinema, radio and television. In India generally the primary focus of interest in communication is how does the receiver make sense of the stimful that he receive so as to deepen his self awareness.
Author Biography
M. K. Verma, an assistant professor of journalism and mass communication, is having more than twenty years of experience in teaching and research. His areas of special interest include impact o technology journalism and mass communication classes to students of graduate and postgraduate level. He also conduct many short-term courses for budding journalist. Prior to joining to the teaching faculty, he had working as a freelance journalist with a base in Chandigarh. His works has been published and broadcasted across India. His wide range experience in news reporting enabled to him t become a member in the advisory committees of famous media organisation. He has been honoured with many awards for his contributions to the field of journalism. J. K. Singh is well known in the study of Journalism and Mass Communication. He has obtained his M.Phil in Journalism and Mass Communication. He started his career as a lecturer in government college. He has contributed various articles for leading journals and magazines. He has attended various lectures on Journalism and Mass Communication organised by government institutions. At present reputed University of North America. Dr. R.C. Ramanujam, as associate professor of Journalism and Mass Communication has about twenty years of teaching experience. He received his Ph.D in Mass Communication in 1980. Before entering academia, he spent six years as a reporter and sub-editor for leading newspapers in India and abroad. He has participated in several National and International Conferences on media and related subjects.
