About Author : Dr.L.P. Mathur (born October 1922) passed the M.A.examination of Panjab University in 1949. He obtained a First Class position in the University examination. He was awarded a Ph.d. degree in Modern Indian History by Panjab University in 1959.At the time of his retirement from the M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur, in 1982, he had compled 30 years of experience in teaching graduate and post-graduate classes. During this period, he also worked as Head of the Department of History of three years.During serivce,and also after retirement, he hs been active in conducting historical research work. He has published 20 research work besides writing a number of articels in reputed historical journals. His previous book, Bhagat Singh, The Prince of Martyrs was widely appreciated.
