Jay Wild, a photojournalist from South Africa, born to an English father and Indo-German mother, is trapped in his several identities. He is irresistibly drawn to India because of the indelible spiritual impression made by his nani-ma through her tales of India. Jay arrives in India in search of his personal heritage and to understand the ???hidden Indian boy??? in him. Jay first sees Ananya in Delhi on a poster advertising her Odissi dance performance, and is immediately arrested by it. His growing obsession with her is compounded by his love for Odissi dance and Jayadeva???s poetry. But their unfolding relationship is finally thwarted by Ananya???s guruji and her own passionate devotion to her art. Forlorn and hurt, Jay returns to Africa and turns to photographing violence, capturing in his lens the horrors of war. Twelve years later, he again meets Ananya, who is on a dance tour in South Africa. By then, she is married and has a son. What will this second meeting mean for them? Will it revive their dormant story? And will Jay at last be reconciled with the ???hidden Indian boy??? who has been silent for so long?
