About the Author G.N. Prabhakara Is a Principal and Professor of PSM at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad, Karnataka, India. He has been a teacher for the past 34 years involving in teaching and training of nursing students. Medical students and students of allied health sciences in the country. He has served in Central Government medical colleges till 1974 and later in Karnataka State Government medical colleges till 2004 and later at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital since 2004. He has to his credit many scientific papers which have been published in various journals. He also has wide experience in training doctors, medial officers, CDPOs, paramedical workers, nurses, home science graduates, laboratory technologists, public health engineers, district medical and health administrators. Apart from giving expertise in public health consultancy, he is the member of various committees and board of students of Health Science University. An effort is made to incorporate theoretical, practical and field aspects of community health nursing in an understandable and simple language which is very much wanted in the field both by trainees and trainers.
