The first dated printed book known is the ï¿¢ï¾EURï¾SDiamond Sutraï¿¢ï¾EURï¾? printed in China in 868 A.D. Johannes Gutenberg printed the first book on a printing press in 1453. Newspaper developed around from 1612 with the first example in English 1620. During 1775, the priner mostly published materials for paying clients. During the 20th century the growth of mass media war driven by technology. In varied ways the definition of journalism has now come full circle. This term passed into common usage in the 1830s only in the twentieth century journalism attained the status of profession with professional schools, organisations, honours, norms etc. The book finds its details descirption about the changing nature of journalism in various phases to till date.
Author Biography
Deepak Kumar, did his B.Com. (Hons.) from Patna University arid M.A. In Mass Communication and Journalism from Guru Jambeshwar University. He worked with Times of India for several years in capacity of Senior Journalist. He has to his credit a number of articles in the various esteemed journals across the country and has attended a number of symposias and seminars. He has earned a number of awards.
