Libraries and Information Centres play major role in contribution to growth and development of human resources by conserving, interpreting and advancing knowledge. Research and health science libraries are now being challenged by a new environment which demands changes in their styles, attitudes and skills towards information handling. The traditional approaches to information processing and organization are being renovated by the advent and interaction of modern computer technologies, electronic sources and telecommunication networks. The advent of computers coupled with database management technology have become handy in dealing with massive quantities of information both bibliographic and full text. The last decade of the last century has ushered in the era of Internet. To cope with these changes, the information professionals have to understand, learn, use and enjoy the intricacies of these technologies, if they desire to go along with the new environment. The present study analyses in detail several important aspects of the knowledge management of the health science libraries in general and three major health science libraries of Odisha in particular.
