This study by the author is devoted to a sociolinguistic analysis of Indian novels in nglish. It analyses the language, structure, style and socio-cultural nuances of Indian novels in English by writers from India that are different from English culture and tradition. It focuses on the transcreation, transformation, creative deviations and pragmatic innovations that have taken place in the `global code` in contact with the local Indian socio-pragmatic context. About Author : Jaydeep Sarangi is the Senior Lecturer in English, Seva Bharati Mahavidalaya, Kapgari, Paschim Medinipur. He has a large number of research papers published in scholarly refereed internationalnational journals. He is distinguished member of many academic bodies.
