Hilar Cooper is Reade in Education at St. Martin's college, Lancaster. Previously, she lectured in education at Goldsmith College, London, after many years as a teacher in a variety of primary schools. Her doctoral thesisi, undertaken as a class teacher, was on Young children's Thinking in History. She has published widely in this area.
