Satapathy is Professor and Head, Department of Education in Science, Mathematics & ICT in North-East Regional Institute of Education (NCERT), Shillong. Dr. Satapathy worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the International Rice Research Institute, Philippines on Sustainable Agriculture during 1991-93 and visited countries such as UK, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia for attending conferences and workshops. Besides supervising a couple of students for Ph. D in Botany and Environmental Education, he has authored two books and published many research papers, reviews and popular articles in national and international journals of repute. Apart from sustainable agriculture, Prof. Satapathy has interest in educational innovations especially in science and environmental education in the country.
