This book presents a selection of poems of W.B. Yeats along with a critical reading of Yeats ’s poetry. The approach is contextual: a brief overview of the life and times of the writer is provided along with the historical and literary background, followed by a discussion of the writer’s literary themes and stylistic techniques. Major critical perspectives on the poet and his work are incorporated in the general introduction, which is followed by the text of the poems. Each poem is accompanied by detailed annotations and textual analysis of important passages besides a critical discussion of themes and stylistic features of the particular work.
