This has been the first Indian book in the subject of pharmacology written jointly by a medical doctor (H. R. Derasari) and a teacher of the premier pharmacy institute L. M. College of Pharmacy (Dr. T. P. Gandhi) in 1974. Although the text was prima facie meant for Diploma in Pharmacy students, it has been observed over the past few decades that degree students of Pharmacy and even medical students also use it as a reference book. Attempts are made every time in new edition to provide the material covering the latest innovations in Pharmacology keeping the language lucid and the contents of subject comprehensive.
